Hazardous and Toxic material is controlled by the U.S.A. (EPA) Environmental Protection Agency. They protect human health and the environment, which includes protection from the potential hazards of waste generation and disposal. Our country has a long history of dangerous pollution. Hazardous or toxic waste is generated from most industrial sectors. Materials like asbestos, radioactive material, PCBs, and lead-based paints just to name a few. Toxic waste can harm people, animals, and plants, whether it ends up in the ground, in streams, oceans, or even in the air.
The problem is how do we clean it up without generating more waste. In the past many areas were cleaned with water or chemicals generating more waste. The USA produces millions of tons of hazardous material per year. So where does all that secondary waste go? The solution to pollution is not dilution.
Hazardous waste clean-up is a multi-step process that must be performed with extreme caution. Workers musts beware of the hazard and ware adequate (PPE) personal protective equipment to protect themselves from the hazardous material. They also must be trained at the highest level to protect themselves and everybody around them. Hazardous material must be contained and dealt with in a process that is environmentally safe.
This is a new technology tool for hazardous waste management. LASer cleaning is and EXCEPTIONAL alternative to conventional cleaning methods with NONE of the draw backs. Lasers clean with no additives, chemicals, abrasives, or even water. LASers clean with light. This is the dry-cleaning process of toxic material. After the hazardous coatings are removed the equipment can be recycled as regular scrap metal. It does not need to be shipped to a hazardous waste landfill. The hazardous material is collected in our fume extractors and the dust can then be disposed of in a safe environmentally process.
